🏰 Destination 1: The Historic Shores of Belém

Our journey begins where the great explorers once set sail. Alex took us to the Belém Tower (Torre de Belém), a UNESCO World Heritage site that stands as a gateway to Lisbon. While history buffs admire the Manueline architecture, Alex was more interested in the Atlantic breeze.

🎨 Destination 2: A Real-Life Fairytale in Sintra

Next, we headed to the colorful heights of Pena Palace (Palácio da Pena). It looks like a giant, vibrant sandcastle perched on top of a hill. Walking through the misty forests of Sintra with Alex felt like stepping into a storybook. It’s no wonder this was the summer home for kings and queens, Alex certainly felt like royalty today!

🌉 Destination 3: Crossing the Iron Giant in Porto

Traveling north, we reached the iconic Dom Luís I Bridge in Porto. Standing high above the Douro River is breathtaking (and a little nerve-wracking!). Alex’s advice? “Just don’t look down too fast!” The view of the Ribeira district from the top is a must-see for every traveler, two-legged or four.

🥧 The Highlight: A Taste of Heaven (Pastel de Nata)

You can’t visit Portugal without trying the legendary Pastel de Nata. We found the real treasure of Portugal; crunchy, creamy, and smells like heaven. Alex might have tried to keep it all for himself, but we can confirm: one bite is never enough!

✨ Why We Are Doing This

Our move to Portugal wasn’t just about a change of scenery; it was about embracing a “Slow Life” (Nova Vida Lenta). After years in the fast-paced aviation industry, we decided to trade airport terminals for cobblestone streets.
